Bike route planning on the web

Build the ride you have in mind.

Pick your way along mapped trails and roads. Check the distance and climbing, adjust the route, then save it for another day or take the GPX with you.

Open Routes on the web

Sign-in required for web route building. The optional Plan my ride tool requires beta access. Routing depends on supported map coverage.

1. Build

Put your plan on the map.

Find an area or trailhead, add waypoints and move them as your plan changes. Choose a loop, out-and-back or one-way ride. Routing follows the mapped network where coverage is available.

2. Review

See what is ahead.

Review distance and the elevation profile where elevation data is available. Riding-time estimates can use qualifying history from your selected bike, or an average speed you set.

3. Keep

Save it for your next day out.

Name, save, reopen and duplicate your route in your account. Download a GPX with named waypoints. Multi-stage routes keep shuttle transfers separate from riding distance and climbing.

A plan is different from a ride.

Building a route does not add a completed ride or component use. Record the ride or import it from your connected device, then add the actual conditions and review its Ride Strain.

What is available where?

Web route building
Build and manage routes in the web app. The optional Plan my ride tool has a beta access request. Network coverage and account access are checked in the app.
Mobile route library and recording with a saved route
The latest iPhone and Android beta builds include saved-route features. Availability in the public store app depends on its release version. You can record an ordinary ride without selecting a planned route.
Trail access
A mapped route is not confirmation that a trail is open or permits your bike. Check local access, closures and conditions before heading out.
